Scherer: ELMS and 24h Le Mans with Inter Europol

Fabio Scherer will not only compete in IMSA in 2022, the 22-year-old from Engelberg will also take part in the ELMS and the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Inter Europol Competition team.

Fabio Scherer is will have a double program this season. The talented Swiss racing driver is not only competing in IMSA in the USA he will also race in the European Le Mans Series. Scherer has signed a contract with the Inter Europol Competition team from Poland which, in addition to the six races in the ELMS alongside Pietro Fittipaldi from Brazil and David Heinemeier Hansson from Denmark, also guarantees a start in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.

”I am super happy to join the team and with the line-up we have, we have a solid base and a good potential to go for podium places and do very well in the championship”, says Scherer.

Teammanager Sascha Fassbender is also glad to announce Fabio as a new driver. “I am very happy to welcome Pietro, David and Fabio to the team. For us, entering the LMP2 in the ELMS was the logical next step. We now have three very good drivers under contract and look forward to play a strong role in the LMP2 field.”

For Scherer, the ELMS season begins with the official tests on 11/12^th April in Le Castellet. The rest of the schedule is as follows:

17^th April, 4 Hours of Le Castellet (F)
15^th May, 4 Hours of Imola (I)
3^rd July, 4 Hours of Hungaroring (H)
28^th August, 4 Hours of Barcelona (E)
25^th September, 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (B)
16^th October, 4 Hours of Portimão (P)

The season highlight, the 24 Hours of Le Mans (F), will take place on 11/12^th June.
