Fabio Scherer finished the sixth round of the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup in Zandvoort (NL) in 16th position. That meant that the Lucerne-born driver from Fach Auto Tech just missed out on the points.

“Things actually didn’t go badly at all in free practice on Friday,” says the 22-year-old Scherer. “But afterwards we weren’t able to improve as much as we wanted. As Zandvoort it’s not the easiest place to overtake it was very difficult to move up from 20th on the grid. I had hoped that I could at least finish in the points. But the performance did not improve towards the end of the race. So the result is disappointing.”

For Scherer, the race continues right away this weekend with the finale of the 2021 Porsche Mobil1 Supercup at his “home track” in Monza (I). Scherer, who is supported by STOBAG and ATS Banding Systems, will be in action twice. The first race will take place on Saturday, 11th September, at 6.20 pm. The second race will follow on Sunday at 12.30 pm. Both races can be followed live on Eurosport. “I hope that we can show a good performance in Monza,” says Scherer. “My personal goal is to aim for the top 10 in qualifying.”
