United Autosports announced today at noon that Fabio Scherer will not be able to take part in the race in Portimão.

A statement from the team says: “United Autosports can confirm that following a positive COVID 19 test result this morning, Fabio Scherer will not be racing for the team during round two of the FIA World Endurance Championship in Portimao.”

Wayne Boyd is on standby in Portugal to join Phil Hanson and Paul Di Resta in the #22 Oreca 07 as a replacement driver.

Fabio Scherer: “I feel healthy and have no symptoms. I wish the team all the best for the race!”
